Young children love to play together, but life changed dramatically when the CoViD-19 pandemic began to sweep the world in early 2020. With the outbreak of the virus, playdates with friends and games with large groups are sadly not safe ideas. Physical distancing is a responsible way to protect ourselves and others, but for little ones learning about the world around them and connecting with their peers through play, it can be especially challenging. Pandemic or no pandemic, play is a central part of children’s lives. It is their way to relax, form bonds, fight boredom, explore feelings and express thoughts.
Through a year of isolation and uncertainty, the holiday season’s traditions are a reminder that though many things have changed, some traditions carry on, such as Christmas gift-giving. Children and even adults look forward to this time of year, all year long. This holiday might look slightly different, but Santa has been working overtime this year with some help from you. Yes, you! Just because children are stuck inside their own homes doesn’t mean they can’t have fun and learn at the same time, right?
GooZam, being a community of good samaritans, brings forth a Call for New or in Good Condition Toy Donations for Christmas Gift Giving in the Philippines, driven by the inspiration to make our children enjoy playful moments and expand their world even when physical space is limited.
To our foreign kababayans we welcome your donations of new and/or in good condition toys. You can send them in cargo boxes to the following details on or before October 15, 2021.

Let’s keep the holidays the same for our children, and provide some sense of normal. Now is the time to play after such a trying year. It’s time to lean into holiday traditions even more, and that includes giving gifts and seeing the season through the eyes of a child.
Play your part by being one of the donors.
